Troon North and Troon Village

Troon is one of Arizona’s renowned premier golfing communities.  Troon real estate spans about 1,800 acres in North Scottsdale just east of Pima Road along the north and south side of Dynamite Road adjacent to a 185-acre Sonoran Desert mountain preserve. Directly to the north, there is a 16,000-acre preserve perfect for biking, and hiking.  Additionally, Troon North’s higher elevation location brings not only cooler summer temperatures, but also scenic panoramic views of the city below.

Real estate in Troon North includes condos and custom homes up to 5,000 sqft. Development in this neighborhood began in the 1990’s and is mostly complete, except for a handful of custom homes being completed each year.  Residents of Troon North have exclusive membership rights to their semi-private club. The immaculately groomed Troon North Golf Club is the ultimate experience of Scottsdale golf courses in Arizona with two pristine 18-hole courses stretching through the natural ravines and foothills of Pinnacle Peak.  Troon North residents also enjoy a 37,000 square foot clubhouse perfect for dining and entertaining guests. The four-acre community park features tennis, basketball, ramadas and a turfed play area to enjoy many outdoor activities.

Just south of Troon North is Troon Village, another 1,400-acre residential golf community with approximately 1,300 home sites. Located east of Alma School Parkway between Jomax and Happy Valley Road, Troon Village includes condos and homes. Custom and semi-custom homes range from 2,400 sqft to 10,000 sqft. Troon Village is home to Troon Country Club, one of Arizona’s top-rated golf clubs. The Troon Country Club golf course naturally integrates into the Sonoran Desert qualifying it as a certified Audubon Sanctuary. Both Troon North and Troon Village have non-gated, gated and guard-gated subdivisions.

Schools: Children residing in Troon North and Troon Village are in the Cave Creek Unified School District, the neighborhood schools include Desert Sun Academy Elementary, Black Mountain Elementary, Sonoran Trails Middle School and Cactus Shadows High School.

 

North Scottsdale

North Scottsdale real estate covers a large area, so we will refer to North Scottsdale as the real estate between Tatum Blvd and Pima Rd, north of Pinnacle Peak Rd and south of Whisper Rock, and north of the 101. But we have for clarity sake done our best to divide them up into the most prevalent areas for reference. Temperatures are generally cooler in this part of town because elevation is approximately 3,000 feet above sea level. Real estate tends to be low density, with plenty of open space and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. There are a variety of housing options, as well as a large range of in-housing costs.

North Scottsdale has many communities to pick from, offering golf, mountain, desert and city view options.

Legend Trail golf community consists of eight distinctive communities with 824 homesites. Housing options include inexpensive luxury condominiums to custom lots, from 1,300 to 6,000 square feet. There are gated and non-gated neighborhoods available. The Legend Trail Golf Course offers an 18-hole course and a 10,000 square feet recreation facility with a fitness center, tennis court, and two swimming pools. Trailheads to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve are available within the community.

Mirabel Village, a 700-acre golf community with approximately 315 custom home sites, is a guard gated community with semi-custom and custom homes. Many of the home sites range in size from two-thirds of an acre to over two acres. The private golf course was designed by Tom Fazio and the 38,000 square feet clubhouse offers a spa, a health center, clay tennis courts, a swimming pool, and fine dining.

Estancia is home to a Fazio designed 18 hole private course which rests in the shadow of Pinnacle Peak. This property is a premier gated community affording residents a lifestyle rich in both views and amenities.

Treviso, a Toll Brothers community of 97 homes, consists of homes that were primarily built from 2005 to 2008. Housing options include apartments and condominiums, but the majority are single-family homes. Most of the homes are single-story and two-story options are available.

North Scottsdale is close in proximity to all the shops and restaurants offered by Cave Creek and Carefree. Hwy 74 is nearby and Barlett Lake is only a short distance away, where you can partake in fishing, boating, and camping. This area is served by the Cave Creek Unified School District.

Fishing

North Scottsdale real estate covers a large area, so we refer to North Scottsdale area 2 as the real estate between Tatum Blvd and Pima Rd, north of Pinnacle Peak Rd and south of Whisper Rock.

There is a wide variety of housing options are available, from custom and semi-custom, single-family homes to condominiums and townhomes. There are over ten different communities within the area, all offering beautiful desert and mountain views. There are small communities like Trovia, a small, gated subdivision of 50 lots. The homes were built by Monterey Homes and range in size from 3,563 to 5,248 square feet. Larger communities like Saguaro Highlands are also available. The private gated community of 132 residences was built by Toll Brothers in the early 2000s. Prices for the luxurious semi-custom homes range from the low $600s to over $1M, and offers community parks with tennis courts.

Things To Do: In this part of town, you are close to Pinnacle Peak and Troon Mountains, where you can enjoy hiking and biking on many trails. There are also many opportunities to golf with Troon Country Club, Pinnacle Peak Country Club, and the Desert Ridge Golf nearby. Desert Ridge Marketplace and CityNorth are minutes away and offer many dining and retail options. The Loop 101 Freeway is easily accessible and the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is only 30 minutes away.

Schools: This residential area is serviced by Cave Creek Unified School District.
