Cave Creek real estate, located in the high Sonoran Desert, encompasses a vast area northwest of North Scottsdale and bordered by Tonto National Forest to the north. The area has beautiful mountain views, lush desert landscape, magnificent granite boulders and plenty of open spaces for wildlife habitats. Elevation is at a minimum of 2,000 feet above sea level, offering slightly cooler temperatures.

There is a large variety of housing options in the Cave Creek area, from apartments, condominiums, townhouses, semi-custom homes and custom estates built at the foothills of the Black Mountain.

There are many horse properties/ranches available since the area originated from a mining and ranch history.

  • Old Town Cave Creek offers a country/ranch lifestyle, with homes that offer horse privileges and desert trails.
  • The Reserve at Tranquil Trail is in the heart of Carefree, the sister town of Old Town Cave Creek, and is comprised of 32 home sites that average 35,000 square feet. Homes naturally blend in with the large granite rock formations in the area.
  • Ashler Hills Estates is a gated community of 32 large properties built by Maracay Homes. These semi-custom, single family homes offer three to seven bedroom options and has an equestrian center.
  • The Village at Surrey Hills is a lock and leave luxury condominium community, which offers a maintenance free lifestyle .

Homes within the gated community of Rancho Manana Golf Club span from smaller second homes to larger resort homes on the golf course. There are 91 detached homes of mainly Adobe, Sante Fe and Territorial architectural style that were built between 1989 and 2014.

Things To Do: There’s never a lack of activities available from hiking, biking and riding horses on the many trails accessible to residents. There are plenty of golf courses to conquer, from the 18-hole championship course at Rancho Manana Golf Club to the courses at Whisper Rock and Troon North Golf Clubs. Residents can enjoy the many quaint stores, art galleries and restaurants available within Old Town Cave Creek and Carefree. However, the community is near the many retail stores and restaurants offered at Desert Ridge Marketplace, CityNorth, Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarters.
Carefree Hwy is minutes away and the Loop 101 Freeway is about 25-30 min away. The area is served by the Cave Creek Unified School District.

Desert Mountain is a private golf community located in North Scottsdale that borders Cave Creek and Tonto National Forest. Located in the high Sonoran Desert, elevation ranges from 2,500 to 4,800 square feet offering slightly cooler temperatures.

The luxurious 8,000-acre golf community of Desert Mountain is based around six Jack Nicklaus signature golf courses. The guard-gated community of home sites, custom homes, semi-custom homes, and attached cottages/casitas, is set among a collection of villages. Many of the homes line one of the six golf courses, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. There is a wide range of housing options, from a small attached two-bedroom “lock and leave” cottage to a large luxurious custom estate home on the mountainside.

Within the community are six clubhouses that offer nine tennis courts (1 grass court, 5 clay courts, and 3 hard courts), a full-service spa and a fitness center. The surrounding mountains offer plenty of trails for hiking, biking, and riding horses. Since Desert Mountain borders Cave Creek, residents can easily enjoy the many stores, restaurants and art galleries that the quaint town offers. The community is also not far from the many retail stores and restaurants offered at Desert Ridge Marketplace, CityNorth, Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarters.

Carefree Hwy is minutes away and the Loop 101 Freeway is easily accessible. The area is served by the Cave Creek Unified School District.
